im gonna make a movie that’s titled “WILL SOMETHING SCARY HAPPEN?” and it will feature an hour and a half of someone walking around their house in the dark doing various things that COULD be the prelude to something scary but nothing actually scary will happen until after the credits when spooky scary skeletons will play

Who are your favorite film composers?

This is just going from trends in my 4 stars-or-more rated songs flicking through my iTunes but Steve Jablonsky, Joe Hisashi, John Powell and Thomas Newman came up more than once.  I don’t own a ton of soundtracks though, and there are problem film soundtracks I love more than these (the soundtracks in question that brought them up twice were The Island/Transformers for SJ, Laputa/Spirited Away for JH, Shrek/How To Train Your Dragon for JP and American Beauty/WALL-E for TN).

Of course there are a lot of soundtracks that I love too much in the film context to listen to out of context, and these same musicians have surprised me when I see their name in the credits of other films and been like “oh wouldn’t have thought, the music wasn’t anything super amazing”.

You get so many Pixar questions! Who is your favorite Pixar character??

I can never choose because most Pixar characters work as an ensemble.  Like Toy Story is one of the few franchises that I literally can’t pick a favourite character, I love them all.  8C

But I guess Carl from Up I got an instant bond with because I see a lot of myself in him.  I hang onto the past a lot.  Really that film should have taught me not to but I still anyway!  Lol.

Amelie has no boyfriend. She’s tried once or twice, but the results were a let down. Instead, she cultivates a taste for small pleasures: dipping her hand into sacks of grain, cracking creme brulee with a teaspoon, and skipping stones at St. Martin’s canal.
